We’re proud to be housed in Monmouth County’s first established library building, steeped in history and ready to inspire. Long Branch itself dates back to 1668, when early settlers laid roots along the South Shrewsbury River, a place that would evolve from a colonial settlement into a beloved shore community. Over time, it became not only a historic backdrop for our nation’s early years but also a celebrated seaside destination frequented by presidents and visitors alike.

We are proud to take part in commemorating Monmouth County’s essential role in the birth of our nation. Libraries hold a unique power in this work, preserving history, making it accessible, and connecting generations through shared stories and original sources.

Join us throughout the year as we honor 250 years of American history, right here where it happened!

Warm regards,
Tonya Garcia
