Keyport Public Library

Library Director

Under the direction of the Library Board of Trustees, develops, administers, supervises, and
coordinates the work of the Library and staff, performs managerial duties related to personnel,
budget, collection development, building maintenance, and library operations and services in
conformity of the policies established by the Board of Trustees and the regulations of the New
Jersey State Library.

Duties:

The work requires that the employee have thorough knowledge,
skill and ability in every phase of the public library field. The Keyport Public Library is a small library
serving a community of 7,000 people. Based on the size of the library, the Director must be able to
function in every position in the library, from administrative duties, to answering reference
questions, to even assisting patrons on computers. The position is also invested with making the
most difficult library technical decisions and being the face of the library.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university.
  • Three – five years of progressively responsible library administration experience including at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Excellent communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to administer the activities of a public library and to supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to develop short and long term development, plans, and objectives.

Part Time Library Assistant

Universal Associate

Deliver an exceptional member experience, through the tenants of the United Teletech “Member Journey”.

The Universal Associate primary focus is on the sales results of the retail branch:

  • Meet the branch and individual goal for new members
  • Meet the branch and individual goal for new Checking accounts
  • Meet the branch goal and individual goal for electronic services
  • Support both lending and investment & retirement services through referrals and meet branch and individual goals for creating such business opportunities
  • The Universal Associate also has operational retail branch responsibility: 
  • Assisting members with account management
  • Complete member transactions
  • Support the member experience by promoting kiosk enrollment and utilization
  • Provide other financial services as needed
  • Maintaining accurate records and thorough handling of all monies assigned

              Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year experience of sales or sales related position
  • Minimum of one year of cash handling experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish helpful
  • Associates degree or high school diploma or with three years progressively responsible job experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates excellent phone rapport.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and knowledge to work at other branches as needed Work various hours as needed, including Saturdays and some evenings.

Part time: 29.5 hours a week

Salary:

 $18.00-$22.00 per hour depending on experience
