In cooperation with NewsBank, the Long Branch Free Public Library now has access to some great resources. First and foremost, you can now access the digital Star Ledger newspaper from the America’s News link in our Resources menu. You can now explore and stay informed on local and national topics, people, and events in areas such as business, health, education, jobs and careers, political and social issues and more. America’s News features a wide variety of credible, vetted news sources spanning the U.S.
If you are doing research or just exploring, we’ve also added the following databases:
Black Life in America: The experience and impact of African Americans as recorded by the news media.
Hispanic Life in America: The experience and impact of Hispanic Americans as recorded by the news media, 1704 to today.
Indigenous Life in America: The experience and impact of Indigenous Americans as recorded by the news media.
Asian Life in America: The experience and impact of Asian Americans as recorded by the news media.
For everyone interested in genealogy, in addition to AncestryLibrary (which you can use inside the library), you can now access HeritageHub. This database allows you to explore your family history with the premier collection of U.S. obituaries and death notices for in-depth genealogical research from 1704 – today. Heritage Hub helps you easily identify relatives, uncover new information and potentially unknown family members. It includes deep coverage from all 50 states, hard-to-find content from the mid 1900’s, and original obituary images.
