The Long Branch Free Public Library is on schedule to complete its transformative reconstruction project by late Autumn, marking a new era of innovation while honoring our historic Carnegie roots. With the $6.2 million renovation funded by a matching grant from the NJ Library Construction Bond Act and the City of Long Branch, this revitalization ensures our library remains a cornerstone for learning, growth, and connection in the Long Branch community for generations to come.
As the project nears completion, you will start to see updates being made to the exterior of the building. This comprehensive transformation has created an energy-efficient, state-of-the-art facility, solidifying our role in the community as a place where tradition and innovation meet. The renovated library seamlessly blends highly valued services with cutting-edge features, including “print from anywhere” technology, a dynamic lecture series, and initiatives designed to engage neurodivergent populations.
Our staff had the opportunity to explore the beautifully updated 23,500 square foot interior in October. We are incredibly excited to reopen the library to the public and to welcome you back to this reimagined space. This reconstruction sets the foundation for a vibrant and successful future, ensuring the library remains a vital hub for education, inspiration, and community engagement.
“This has been a dream fulfilled—one that will empower generations to come.” – Tonya Garcia, Library Director.
