With support from generous individuals and businesses, we can develop and expand special services such as our job search resources, special collections, reentry services, children’s story hours & supplies, annual events and so much more. No donation is too small. You can make checks and cash donations at both locations or by mailing a check to the following address:
Long Branch Free Public Library
328 Broadway
Long Branch, NJ 07740
For your safety, cash is only accepted in person at the front desk. The Library is a non-profit and donations are tax-deductible. We appreciate all your support!
We know that thinking about how you wish to distribute assets you have accumulated over a lifetime is a personal matter. Your decisions will affect those you love and are a reflection of your particular interests. We hope you will think of the library when speaking with your attorney or investment adviser about making estate plans. Please feel free to reach out to the Library with any questions.
We accept book donations to fill gaps in our collection, offer giveaways at special events, and more. We gladly accept books, video games, and DVDs in good condition, and can provide a tax receipt for all donations. Make sure to call ahead before dropping donations off and do not leave books at our entrances. Please note, that books or items we do not use may be recycled or sold. All proceeds will benefit the library.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept:
Our Local History Room welcomes gifts of books, manuscripts, and other materials that are deemed to be within the scope of its collection. To avoid misunderstandings, we ask that all prospective donors consult with the manager of our Local History Room or Library Director before donating.
Donations Acceptance Notice
Once accepted, all gifts have been deemed the property of Long Branch Free Public Library. The library will determine whether the donation should be added to its collections or disposed of by Library policy. In general, it is not usually Library policy to retain duplicate copies of titles or items in poor physical condition. A gifted copy may be used to replace a currently held volume in poor condition.
Appraisals
Please note that by Internal Revenue Service Regulations, the Library is prohibited from appraising or estimating the value of any gift. Donors who require an appraisal need to make arrangements to do so with an independent appraiser and pay for that service themselves.
Any questions regarding general gifts please email Kate Angelo, or call 732-222-3900 ext. 2300
