A mobile hotspot is a small box that provides wireless Internet that you can connect to with a mobile device, like a smartphone, tablet, or laptop computer. Similar to a data plan for a cell phone, as long as the hotspot can connect to the Internet service provider’s cell tower, users can access the Internet.

These mobile hotspots are a great option for Long Branch residents who are traveling, or do not have reliable Internet at home.

Eligibility: To be eligible to borrow a mobile hotspot, patrons must have a valid Long Branch Free Public Library card in good standing.

Availability: Hotspots are available at the Circulation service desk and can be placed on hold.

Loan Period: Hotspots are checked out for a two-week period (no renewals). Once you have checked out a hotspot, you must wait two weeks before you can check out a hotspot again.

Returns: Hotspots may be returned at the Long Branch Main Library, 328 Broadway. They can be returned in the A/V Drop but NOT the Book Return.

Lost or damaged hotspot: The charge for a lost or damaged hotspot is $72.
